Whichever program you choose, I will find out from you what theme you want emphasize, and then I'll work the song lyrics and skits around that theme. I also include the school name and colors into the lyrics. I can even include other concurrent programs you may be using. For example, if your school is using Kelso's choice, then I can write a song or skit to build that into my program too.
This is a program to encourage reading and is often used as a kick-off for PARP or reading month. I will tie in your reading slogans with mine. Volunteers come up on stage after each skit or song to explode balloons which then reveal a message about reading. For example: "Readers are Leaders"
R = Respect others
U = Understand others
L = Listen to others
E = Everybody counts
This program is the positive side of the no-bullying or anti-bullying movement. Yes, we have to tell kids that bullying in wrong. But, I think we need more emphasis on the benefits of being kind. People who are nice to others simply get more out of life. Students need to see that. This program is for them.
Through skits and songs, students are encouraged to think over their options carefully before they make a choice. The effects their choices may have on others is emphasized as well as the importance of taking responsibility for their decisions. This program is often used to reinforce the Kelso's choice program, but it can stand alone too.
This is a motivational program with an emphasis on kindness. Persistence is a quality that can serve, study habits, sports, music, and relationships too. Students will learn that genius is 2% inspiration and 98% perspiration.
This program is used with permission from Coach John Wooden and is based on his best selling children's book, "Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success" and his motivational book, "The Pyramid of Success." The program gives tips that both students and teachers can use immediately. Students experience how doing their personal best in any situation is the citadel of success. It culminates with the students actually building a pyramid on stage and a ribbon cutting by the school principal.
This a new program I am developing based on Stephen Covey's Seven Habits™ series with permission from the Franklin Covey Institute.
